Robbie walked slowly, cigarette in hand, down the long corridor which led to the library. Normally, he wouldn't go to a place like a library, but he was really bored. Franklin High wasn't a very entertaining place, so Robbie had to make the most of what was on offer. He took a long drag of the cigarette as he passed a member of the cleaning staff, who gave him a sinister-looking glare. Robbie glanced at his name tag - Steve. "Is there a problem Steve?" Steve didn't say a word, and continued to stare at Robbie, shaking his head. "No problem?" Robbie put his cigarette out, and threw it onto the floor. "Well fuck off then." Robbie walked on, he heard various insults being spat at him from Steve, but he ignored them and carried on towards the library.
Robbie glanced around the corridor. He laughed at the posters that were stuck to the walls with tape, advising the patients to stop drinking and give up smoking. Really, the staff should know that these posters didn't stand a chance, because just about every one of the patients either smoked, drank or both. Robbie walked up to one of them, and ripped it from its position on the wall. He dropped it on the floor on purpose, so Steve would have to pick it up. Robbie laughed at his evil ways, and walked through the archway into the library.
Franklin High was basically a prison. But still, Robbie was expecting the library to be in slightly better condition than it was. There was only about five shelves, and although they were extremely packed with books, it was still pretty poor. The paint on the walls looked old, and was a disgusting gray-brown color. Robbie tapped his food against the wood flooring, which was chipped and cracked. Obviously, some patients had lashed out. So, overall, it really was an awful library, but at least it was a quiet place where Robbie could relax.
Robbie sat down on one of the wooden benches, situated around the library's edges. He took a notebook and pencil out of his satchel, and began to draw. Nothing in particular, just doodles, song lyrics, anything really. It was a regular hobby of his. Robbie sat there smiling, as the pencil danced between his fingers and scribbled on the page.

` we were b o r n for this Feeling somewhat shy, Amelia dashed out of the cafeteria and walked along the corridor until she found the library. It was her fashion sense that had made her so shy, irrational, but you would be too, if all of the bitches were staring at your new top which read 'bogus' and sneering at your pink ray-ban sunglasses. It wasn't really her fault that she was different. She'd always been the class outcast, so really, no one could blame her as that was the only thing she knew.
Sighing, she made her way into the peaceful library. She'd been there before, many times before, in fact. It was almost like her own little haven that she could hide away all of her thoughts and fears by reading. By taking on another person's point of view was the only way Amelia thought she could push her own problems to the back of her head.
Amelia couldn't help smiling as she looked around the room, the small bookcases were overflowing with books, sure, it was scruffy, but she liked it. The library felt more to home to her than even her dorm did. Smiling carefully at the librarian, who she knew to be nasty and overpowering at times, Amelia walked over to a bookcase and searched for Romeo and Juliet. It was unbelievable how much she loved that book, it was one that made her double over with laughter, one that made her cry real tears and one that meant so much to her. To be truthful, she would probably be able to say the entire script word-by-word, Amelia had read it so much.
She grinned as she found it and ran her hands over it's rough texture. Just by looking at it, she could tell it had seen so many people, felt so many hands caressing it's covers and being shoved into so many different bags in its time. This didn't stop her and she promptly picked it up and held it close to her chest. This book meant more to her than all of her possessions in the world, the book had helped her overcome so many fears, so many hates, so many loves it as ridiculous.
Looking around the room, she saw a guy sitting my himself, and what seemed to be doodling or writing, Amelia didn't know which, but she decided to go sit next to him. If she was on one of her 'off days' she would have kept herself concealed to her dorm and just spent the entire day there, reading the book once more, sometimes even acting it out just for the fun of it.
She sat down and thought it would be nice of her to introduce herself, so she did. "Hey." She spoke in the general direction of the guy, so if he didn't want to listen, she wouldn't be offended. "I'm Amelia." With that last note, she opened up Romeo and Juliet and flicked to Juliet's soliloquy, pages 231 to 233. Quickly, she read over the piece, the words 'Oh Romeo, I drink this to thee.' for some reason always made tears come to her eyes and this time was no exception, sure, the guy was there, but that didn't stop her. Robbie decided to draw something more constructive than just plain, dull doodles. He threw his pencil back into his satchel, and pulled out a sharper, thicker one. He brought his feet up onto the bench, and propped his notebook up against his knees. Robbie began to draw a face, starting with the general shape of it, then adding in guidelines to help with the eyes, nose and mouth. He quickly filled in the eyes, as he had drawn faces loads of times before. Robbie then did his favorite part - the hair. He gave the face a side-fringe, making sure it covered one of the eyes he had drawn. Robbie smiled with satisfaction - so far so good.
"Hey. I'm Amelia."
Robbie looked up from his work as he felt someone sit down next to him. He didn't know why, there were plenty of empty benches around. Still, Robbie wasn't going to complain, so he placed his pencil down on his notebook, and quickly studied what he had drawn so far. Sure, it wasn't anywhere near his best work, but he still liked it. He tore his eyes away from is work and turned to face Amelia.
"Hey, Amelia. I'm Robbie." He gave Amelia a smile, and took a quick look around the library. A few more patients had came, smoked and walked off in the time it took Robbie to do his drawing, and he wasn't even half-done. The smell of the cigarette smoke wafted it's way over, and found it's way up Robbie's nostrils, tempting and teasing him. Normally, he would have had a cigarette in his hand by now. But he didn't know if Amelia smoked or not, so Robbie refused to let himself have a cigarette. He looked across at the librarian, who was having difficulty trying to shove books back onto the shelves. It was quite amusing to watch, and Robbie couldn't help laughing quietly to himself. The librarian then looked over in his direction, and he quickly his his face behind his notebook. Robbie laughed some more as he turned and walked away from him. Robbie really took pleasure from displeasing and annoying the staff, as they never made life for the patients easy.
Smiling to himself, Robbie returned to his picture, adding in the nose and lips, and shading in the most detailed parts. He added ears, which could only just be seen behind the hair, and gave the character a smirk on his lips. He added a scar under and above one eye, and colored in the hair with a black pencil from his satchel. Robbie took out the whole pack of colors, and colored the eyes in the darkest brown he had. He added stress lines and gave it a final, long look, making sure he had done everything he could to it. Nodding in approval, he glanced over at Amelia, and the book she was reading.
"Romeo and Juliet? I've read that." Robbie took his notebook in one hand and held it so she could see his drawing. "What do you think?" He asked her.

` we were b o r n for this Amelia had read the soliloquy around five times by the time the guy replied. To be honest, she had almost given up on him. Sure, he was drawing and everything, but it was just plain rude to ignore someone. Sighing to herself, trying not to get mad, otherwise Casey would come out. Casey, was what Amelia liked to call her 'other side.' She only came out whenever Amelia was mad, and normally, when Casey was out, Casey was mad and most of the time killed people for pissing Amelia off. That was the single fact Amelia stayed calm, once she'd woken up with blood on her hands and a man's dead body lying over her, she was determined that would never, ever happen again. Plus, the guy was pretty cute anyway, with his floppy side fringe and chestnut coloured hair. She usually went for guys like that, and if he was nice to her, maybe she would flirt a little. Rolling her eyes at herself, Amelia listened to what the guy was saying to her.
She smiled as he introduced himself as Robbie, it was a name that fitted his image perfectly, and almost made him look even cuter in Amelia's eyes. All she did was hope he was straight and single. She doubted he was, but all she could do was hope, right?
Almost immediately after she'd listened to Robbie, Amelia had her head back down in her book. There was a reason for her love of Romeo and Juliet, it got her away from the world, almost nothing at all could get her head out of it, not even when someone was screaming in her ear. She also loved the book because it was so damn romantic, and one of Shakespeare's best work. There was just an element to Romeo and Juliet that he just didn't seem to have in any of his o plays. It was almost as if he was trying to get back the popularity of Romeo and Juliet to all of his other plays, too. Sure, he was a famous playwrite, but that didn't mean all of his plays were good.
As soon as Amelia turned th page over from Juliet's soliloquy, all she felt was remorse for Lady Capulet and Nurse. They thought Juliet was dead, yet she was not, she was waiting for Romeo to come rescue her. When all of Verona thought she had stopped attending the land of the living and ran off to the land of the dead.
Amelia took in a sniff of air, but on that very air was the scent of cigarette smoke. Her addiction had been set off. Not looking very happy at all to be smoking in her haven, Amelia put down Romeo and Juliet and dug around in her pocket for her cigarette box. After a short while she found them and quickly took one out and lit it, making sure her need was accompanied for. It wasn't just when Amelia was mad that Casey came out, oh no, she came out when Amelia was sad and needing something badly, like an addiction. So naturally, she had to feed the monster before she became the monster. She took a quick drag and smiled s Robbie asked her about Romeo and Juliet. "What do I think?" She quoted Robbie, shaking her head. "How many times have you read it? I've read it...oh, about...twenty times?" Amelia stuck out of her tongue and picked the book back up with her spare hand, the other holding her cigarette, and flicked through until she got to the pages 231 to 233. "That's Juliet's soliloquy, my favourite bit of the play. I can quote it exactly when I want to." She grinned, seemingly proud of herself and giggled. [/blockquote]

"What do I think?"
Robbie nodded as Amelia repeated his question. He had a feeling that she would absolutely adore Romeo and Juliet. Robbie himself had read it quite a few times and, he had to admit, he loved it. It wasn't just the romance. There was the humor, the emotion behind the words and overall how brilliantly it had been written. Robbie took creative things like this very seriously, because writing was another hobby of his.
"How many times have you read it? I've read it...oh, about...twenty times?"
Robbie laughed as Amelia stuck her tongue out. So he had been right, she did love it. "Well," Robbie began. "I have infact read it quite a few times. Half a dozen at least. I really love it. Obviously, it's Shakespeare's best play." Robbie sent a smile Amelia's way. It wasn't his normal smile, because he didn't know her very well. But it was still a warm, polite smile, and Robbie hoped that he and Amelia would become friends. The two of them already had something in common - their love for Romeo and Juliet. So things were looking good, and hopefully, Robbie would make a new friend.
The scent of cigarette smoked hit Robbie's nostrils once more. He looked around, trying to find the source, and eventually realized that it was coming from Amelia. He quietly breathed out a sigh of relief to himself, and took a cigarette and his black lighter out of his pocket. Robbie placed the cigarette between his lips, and covered the lighter with one hand as he lit it. He put the lighter back in his pocket, and took a long drag from his cigarette. A cloud of black smoke escaped from his mouth as he breathed out, and he watched it slowly but surely evaporate it's way into the air. Robbie sighed with satisfaction - there was nothing quite like the first puff of a cigarette.
"That's Juliet's soliloquy, my favorite bit of the play. I can quote it exactly when I want to."
Robbie smiled and laughed. He thought to himself that she really must be in love with Romeo and Juliet. "Well, I can't quote it, but I pretty much know all of the play." Robbie picked up his notebook and dropped it onto Amelia's lap. "Like my drawing?" Robbie asked, the cigarette rolling between his fingers.

` we were b o r n for this Amelia took another drag of her cigarette, probably filling up her lungs with carbon monoxide, but really, she didn't care. Everyone was going to die somehow, some time, somewhere. She just chose to die from cigarettes like the other millions, billions, of people who smoked them daily. To Amelia, her life wasn't a blessing, it was a curse, and when she actually felt like her life was worth living, Casey came out. Which, really, was the icing on the cake of crap in her life. But she didn't let this faze her and blew the smoke out of her parted lips. She was listening to Robbie talk, but Amelia didn't hear the words properly, as she was taking more and more drags from her cigarette. This was a regular occurrence whenever she needed a cigarette. Amelia desperately wanted to stay herself, she'd had enough from Casey lately. Sighing to herself, Amelia caught some words from Robbie and decided to listen properly to him. She could still take a drag, right?
Amelia couldn't agree more with Robbie's words, and even though he didn't want to interrupt him speaking, her mouth seemed to move of its own accord. "Really?" Amelia's voice was shocked. "I totally think it's Shakespeare's best play, too." Realising what she had done, Amelia apologised. She hadn't meant to interrupt Robbie, and she never knew how someone would react to others talking over them.
Amelia hadn't noticed her eyes had travelled down to the floor, but suddenly, as something landed on her lap and Robbie asked her if she liked his drawing, she realised her eyes had. Looking up, the first thing she saw was a drawing of a person. Amelia's eyes blinked, the drawing was by far one of the better ones she'd seen in her life. "So I'm guessing you like drawing, huh?" Amelia smiled at Robbie and answered his question. "Yes, I do like it. The drawing is really good." For some reason, it had made Amelia want to draw. "Could I draw something?" She asked kindly, taking another drag from the shorter cigarette balanced in her fingertips. [/blockquote]

"Really? I totally think it's Shakespeare's best play, too."
Robbie laughed as Amelia agreed with his words. He enjoyed most of Shakespeare's plays, but he enjoyed Romeo and Juliet with a passion, ever since he had first studied it at school. He couldn't explain why he loved it so much, but after the first time he had read it, he just wanted to carry on reading it. Robbie held his hand up as Amelia apologized for interrupting him. "Don't apologize, it was nothing. Anyway, I've finally met a person who loves Romeo and Juliet as much as I do." He smiled at Amelia. This time it was his usual smile, because already he knew that the two of them would be friends. Finally, Robbie thought to himself. He had actually made a friend at Franklin High.
He took a drag of his cigarette, settling his craving for the time being, as he waited to see what Amelia's reaction to his drawing would be. No matter who it was, Robbie always got nervous when somebody was reviewing his work, because he put so much time into it, and he was worried that someone would hate his drawings. Even when people said they liked his work, the wait for their reaction had never changed. Robbie braced himself, and blew out a trail of smoke. He watched it for a while, until it disappeared into the air.
"So I'm guessing you like drawing, huh?"
Robbie answered Amelia's smile with a nod, and a smile of his own. Drawing really was a passion of his, ever since he was a small child. But back then, he didn't get much time to draw, what with all the bickering between his parents about who would get custody of Robbie. But at Franklin High, he had all the time in the world to draw things. That was one of the very few things he liked about this place.
"Yes, I do like it. The drawing is really good."
Robbie couldn't help but let out a small sigh of relief as he heard Amelia's answer. "Thanks," Robbie began. "Drawing really means a lot to me, so you liking my work means a lot to me as well." He smiled, and looked across at his drawing. He was quite pleased with that one, but he had done far better ones in the past. When he was by himself, Robbie went into his own world, and was completely focused on whatever he was drawing. The library was always quiet, so Robbie knew he had picked a pretty good place to draw.
"Could I draw something?"
"Yeah, sure." Robbie replied. Smiling, he took yet another pencil out of his satchel. It was sharper, and slightly thinner than the one he had used. He blew away small pieces of lead from it's tip, and handed it over to Amelia.

` we were b o r n for this Amelia smiled as Robbie said that she didn't need to apologise. She was always so nervous and scared that someone would take offense to something like that, well, normally, Amelia wouldn't have been scared in public, but here at franklin high, wasn't public. People lived with others everyday of their lives, so really, if someone didn't like another, it screwed things up pretty bad. Not that Amelia had gotten on anyones bad side, yet. She knew she would sometime, it was just fates way of telling Amelia that Casey really was real, and that Amelia was doomed in her life. But she didn't like to get depressed so easily, so she didn't concentrate on whatever her mind was saying, instead she focused on what Robbie was saying.
He was explaining how he loved to draw, well, that's what Amelia assumed as he had said the line 'drawing really means a lot to me.' Not that Amelia minded, really, she liked drawing too. Art was an obsession of hers and nothing could stop her from sketching random little drawings whenever she could. She nodded, to make sure Robbie knew she was still all there, and opened her mouth. "I like drawing too." She beamed. "It takes my mind off other things, you know?"
Amelia couldn't help but smile as Robbie let her draw. She watched him grab a pencil from his bag, a nice looking one, might she add, and hand her it. The pencil was sharp and perfect to draw with, seeing this, Amelia's smiled grew. "Thanks."
She began to draw something on the paper she didn't reconsise, but as soon as Amelia had started on the eyes of it, she smiled knowingly. It was a pretty damn good drawing of a skelanimal, even Amelia had to admit that. It was one just like 'bobo' in her room, a little bat skelanimal. Smirking, Amelia put the pencil down and held the book up. "Like it?" She questioned. [/blockquote]

"I like drawing too. It takes my mind off other things, you know?"
Robbie was slightly amazed, and he felt his jaw drop slightly. He quickly brought it back up. He hadn't known Amelia for half an hour, but already he had more in common with her than most of the other people he knew. "Yeah, I totally feel the same way about it." Robbie smiled, and tapped his notebook. "I draw, or write in there whenever I go through hard times in life. I'll not bore you with the details." Robbie stuck his tongue out, and tightened the strap on his satchel. It was a pretty basic bag. Black in color, with a few skull-and-crossbones dotted around it. The buckles were a dark gray, and Robbie took it just about anywhere with him.
Robbie took a drag of his cigarette, as an older-looking boy walked past. Robbie could tell that he was a sloth: his hair looked greasy and untidy, his eyes were droopy and his clothes were an absolute mess. Robbie did not like the sloths, so he wasn't the least bit surprised as the boy shot him a dirty look. He felt the anger boiling up inside of him, but controlled it, sending it back to where it had came from. In the past, Robbie had been to anger management classes, which taught him how to manage his anger, and to not lash out at people like he used to do before. So instead of punching the sloth guy in the face, Robbie gave him a dirty look of his own. He didn't change his facial expression until the sloth was out of sight.
"Thanks."
Robbie nodded as Amelia took the pencil from him. He watched as it moved with grace across the page of his notebook. At first, he had no clue what it was she was drawing, but eventually it all fell into place. Robbie realized that it was a skelanimal. It was a pretty good one as well. He would definitely keep it in his notebook.
"Like it?"
"Of course I like it. I'll definitely be keeping it in there." Robbie laughed a little, took a drag of his cigarette and sank further down into the bench.

` we were b o r n for this Amelia hummed a kids in glass houses tune as she waited for Robbie to reply. It happened to be her favourite kids in glass houses song, saturday, too. Things like that just seemed to stick in her head, not that she minded, of course. As she was humming along to the tune, Amelia smiled as Robbie said exactly what she'd known he would have all the while about his drawing book. With the same smile on her face, Amelia spoke. "Do you like music, then?" She hoped he did, as she loved music herself and hated it when people, such like sloths, didn't like music. Well, what Amelia called music, anyway.
She casually flickered her eyes to her drawing and her heart didn't exactly swell with pride at it. The drawing was no where near finished to her perfection. And let's just say that Amelia's perfection had no boundaries, everything she did, even if it was amazing, she wanted it to be better. She never knew why exactly, but she always itched to modify the end product. It was as if another person had took over her and not Casey, either. More of an artistic person, a person that needed the best, too. Sighing to herself, Amelia gave in to the itch and started to modify the drawing, making the lines more pronounced and the shading darker or lighter in parts.
"There," She spoke, seemingly happier with her drawing. "That's better." Amelia beamed, but her beam brightened dramatically as Robbie said he liked her drawing. It was always good to get compliments, Amelia had noticed. Placing Robbie's book on the table, she stretched and leaned back in her chair. "So, Robbie. Can I ask you something?" Amelia's eyes seemed to light up as if a fuse had been lit when she spoke up once more. Waiting for her answer, Amelia wiggled her nose, a common thing for her to do and got an odd look from a sloth. Narrowing her eyes, Amelia looked back to Robbie, trying not to let Casey out. [/blockquote]

"Do you like music, then?"
Robbie looked across at Amelia, and because he was sat way down on the bench, he had to look up slightly as well. He pulled himself back upright so he was level with Amelia again. Robbie thought about her question. Music played a big part in his life - he never went anywhere without his iPod. Whenever the outside world was too much for Robbie to take in, he simply switched his iPod on and drifted off into his own little world. "Yes, I like music. Good music if I do say so myself." Robbie stuck his tongue out, then carried on. "My Chemical Romance, Evanescence, Fall Out Boy, Good Charlotte, Paramore. Stuff like that." Robbie smiled, those bands really were his favorites. They took up most of the space on his iPod, and he didn't mind that one bit.
Robbie watched Amelia as she shaded various parts of her drawing. He himself was like that when it came to art - a perfectionist. Everything had to be perfectly in place for Robbie to be satisfied, or else he would rip the page out of his book and throw it away. Every line, every eyelash, every single strand of hair had to be just right. He didn't worry about the eyes, because he always got them right. The nose was slightly harder, and so were the lips, but the hair was the most important part to Robbie. He always made sure he spent the most time over it. Seeing that Amelia was the same made Robbie smile.
"There," She spoke, seemingly happier with her drawing. "That's better."
Robbie nodded in agreement. He smiled as he saw Amelia beam over her drawing, and his response to it. Robbie quickly checked his satchel, to see how many sharp pencils he had left. He smiled when he saw that there was at least half a dozen, and zipped up his satchel. Robbie then tapped it to make sure it was securely shut - it was a habit he had gotten into.
"So, Robbie. Can I ask you something?"
"Yeah, sure you can. Go ahead." Robbie said, smiling. He took yet another drag of his cigarette, and waited for Amelia's question.

` we were b o r n for this Amelia smiled and held out the drawing to inspect it. She'd always been such a perfectionist, ever since she'd gotten into drawing and she couldn't bare for her artwork to look shabby or half finished, it had to be done on the spot otherwise she hated it. Always and forever, she'd constantly said to herself.
Smiling at Robbie, Amelia realised how similar their tastes in music where. She absolutely adored My Chemical Romance, Evanescence and Paramore, all being her favourite bands. But she liked a few others that she doubted Robbie would have heard of, but she quoted them anyhow. "I like the same bands as you do, but a few others, too. Like Mindless Self Indulgence." Her eyes flashed a dazzling bright green as she said each syllable of their name, she wasn't exaggerating when she claimed she was their most devoted fan. Amelia had met them, toured with them for two days, well, not in their van, just in her own, following them with one of her old friends, not that they'd minded, either. She also owned all of their albums, their DVD and all of their demos, rare demos, if she said so herself. "And I like Escape the Fate, Midterm Break, Sarah Hudson and even No Doubt, even though they split up." She made a face as she said this. To be honest, Amelia was younger when the band has broken up, but she was still devastated to this day, claiming that they could have been so more famous if they'd stuck at it.
Sighing to herself, Amelia gave the book back to Robbie and tugged at her hair, pulling it in front of her eyes; staring at it, no, glaring at it. "Do you think my hair needs re-dying?" She asked Robbie. "'Cause I do."
After a while, Robbie granted her permission to ask him what she had wanted to ask him since she'd first met him, sure, they were already newly met, but she felt something else there, in their friendship, something more, even. "Well, I'm asking you..." She took in a breath. "How you got here..." Amelia trailed off, flickering her hair out from behind her ears, a nervous habit no doubt, but seemingly, no one noticed it. "I like the same bands as you do, but a few others, too. Like Mindless Self Indulgence."
Robbie nodded as Amelia mentioned Mindless Self Indulgence. "I've heard them. They're pretty cool I suppose." He hadn't heard many of the band's songs, but he liked what he had heard from them. Robbie had a few of their songs on his iPod but, thanks to Franklin High, there was no way of downloading anymore songs onto it. That was one of the reasons why he hated this place. The computers in the library were ancient, and what Internet connection they had often cut out while somebody was using them.
"And I like Escape the Fate, Midterm Break, Sarah Hudson and even No Doubt, even though they split up."
It really was scaring Robbie how much he had in common with Amelia. Their love for Romeo and Juliet, their love for drawing and now their taste in music, and they hadn't even known each other half an hour. It pleased Robbie that he had actually made a friend in this place. Usually, he wasn't very good with new people, but there was something different about Amelia. Something that made him want to talk to her, he couldn't put his finger on it.
"Yeah, I like them as well. We have a lot in common don't we?" Robbie let out a little laugh. He didn't mean it as a joke though, it really was scaring Robbie. But he didn't mind - instead of showing it, he smiled at Amelia. He didn't usually have so much in common with one person. The fact that she had sat next to him was simply fate, because there was loads of benches empty in the library.
"Do you think my hair needs re-dying? 'Cause I do."
Robbie laughed at Amelia's words, even though he knew she was serious. "I'm not really the best person to talk to about hair. I know how to handle my hair, and that's about it. Sorry." Robbie smiled. He wanted to help her but other people's hair wasn't one of his priorities. His own hair, now that was another story. Robbie knew exactly how to deal with his own hair, no matter how messed up it was. He was rather proud of himself.
"Well, I'm asking you...How you got here..."
"How I got here?" Robbie repeated the question, giving himself time to prepare his answer. "I'm here for acting like my "loving" mother. She and my father divorced when I was thirteen. The courts asked me who I would rather live with, and I chose her. Eventually I began to act like her. I started drinking, I started smoking, I even did drugs. But I went to rehab for two months, so I'm free of drugs now. But as you can see, the cigarettes stayed with me. So last year they threw me in here." Robbie shrugged off the thoughts of his mother, and took a drag of his cigarette, waiting to see how Amelia would react.

` we were b o r n for this amelia was annoyed by robbie only saying that he 'guessed' mindless self indulgence were cool. of course they were cool! coughing suddenly, amelia brought herself out of her anger spiral, she really didn't want to get on the bad side of robbie because then she'd have lost a friend. a nice one, too.
sighing to herself, amelia concentrated on what robbie was saying. 'yeah, I like them as well. we have a lot in common don't we?' amelia nodded, they really did have a lot in common and most of it scared her to be honest. she had never met anyone else who liked the bands she did and the style of music she did. but then again, she did live in the worst place to find people like her. no, she didn't live there anymore. she lived here, in franklin high, where she had made more friends that she had ever had before.
smiling amelia could help herself, from speaking as robbie claimed he knew how to handle his hair, but he didn't have any tips for hers. "aw well. i guess it does, though. you can see my natural blonde coming back in." she giggled.
throughout robbie's story, amelia nodded and felt so sympathetic for him. she kind of knew how it felt, parents splitting up. only kid of though, as her own hadn't. but before they sent her here they were on the verge to. that alone killed amelia inside, but now that she was here, well, rumor was that they were trying for another kid. one that wasn't as warped and sadistic as herself. only a rumor though, as her own parents hadn't the 'time' to send her a letter or an email. oh no, they were too busy with their jobs for her. not even a fucking measly phone call. she took a drag of her cigarette, thinking for something to say to robbie. she couldn't think of anything, however and started to tell him how her story went.
"well, i had bulimia, and i still do for that matter." she coughed, wondering how robbie would take the next two things she would say. she guessed probably not very well at all. but it wasn't as if she had a choice, amelia wanted him to know her story, and it was only fair as he'd told her his, too. "i have a split personality, who i like to call casey and, well, whenever i get pissed off or angry or need something like cigarettes, she comes out. and of most times she's came out, well, she's killed someone." amelia gulped, wondering if robbie was branding her a freak. "in total, she's killed five people. and i'm saying that it's her not me, because it really was her. not me." amelia looked away, hoping against hope that he wouldn't hate her now that she'd told him. "aw well. i guess it does, though. you can see my natural blonde coming back in."
Robbie laughed. "I've never died my hair before." He pointed to his hair. "This is all natural." Robbie stuck his tongue out. He didn't do major things with his hair - the biggest thing he did with his hair was straighten it. Robbie straightened his hair almost every single morning, depending on how early he woke up. Robbie always preferred his hair when it was straightened, and he liked the fact that it was extremely easy, and quick to straighten as well.
Robbie thought about how Amelia had reacted to his story. She had handled it pretty well - most people freaked out when they heard all the things he had been through. But seeing as she was in Franklin High as well, Robbie knew that she must have had some hard times in her life as well. So if she came out with her story, Robbie promised himself that he would deal with it like she had dealt with his. He told himself that he wouldn't get freaked out at anything, and that he would still be Amelia's friend.
"well, i had bulimia, and i still do for that matter."
Robbie nodded, and sent a sympathetic smile Amelia's way. He didn't want to say anything, because he knew that Amelia would probably be feeling bad right about now. Also, Robbie didn't really want to say anything, because Amelia hadn't said a word during he told his life story. So, out of respect, Robbie stayed silent for now.
"i have a split personality, who i like to call Casey and, well, whenever i get pissed off or angry or need something like cigarettes, she comes out. and of most times she's came out, well, she's killed someone."
Robbie gulped, but he didn't judge Amelia one bit. It was understandable. A place like this can get to you easily, and when you're addicted to something like cigarettes, you never know what you'd do to get them. Robbie understood Amelia, which scared him as well. Already, he felt like he knew Amelia extremely well, like he could tell her anything and she would understand completely. It was a new feeling to Robbie, because he hadn't met anyone like her before.
"in total, she's killed five people. and I'm saying that it's her not me, because it really was her. not me."
Robbie really felt for Amelia as she turned away from him. Not knowing what else to do, he gently placed his hand on her shoulder. "It's alright, I understand." Robbie said softly. He stopped talking after that, but left his hand on Amelia's shoulder, to see if she would turn around.
