` we were b o r n for this amelia smiled and nodded as robbie said his hair had never been dyed before, she guessed it hadn't as it was a nice chestnut brown colour and to dye that would be just the biggest crime in the book, well, amelia thought so anyway. she guessed robbie would feel the exact way about her natural hair colour; light blonde. but she'd wanted to be in peoples faces so she dyed it lighter and lighter, until it was a bleach blonde colour.
after spilling all of her emotional crap whilst telling robbie her story of sadness, amelia couldn't think of a single thing to say to him. sure, he understood her, but still, she felt like crap. and not in a good way, either. not that there was a good way to feel like crap, though. it was just a thing amelia thought and said, too.
it was then that she felt a weight on her shoulder, a warm weight, too. she turned around to see it was robbie's hand, at that time she tensed but didn't pull away. she liked the warmth on her shoulder, it felt...good. eventually, after more than a minute staring at robbie's hand amelia felt as though she'd better say something. "what's that for?" she new it was the wrong thing to say, but she did it without thinking. [/blockquote]

Robbie smiled to himself as he saw Amelia begin to turn around. He wasn't going to say anything, but he was pretty damn proud of himself. He had actually made an effort with a new person and, because of it, he had made a new friend. One that he had rather a lot in common with. Robbie saw Amelia stare at his hand, which was still sat on her shoulder, and felt slightly on edge as to what her reaction to it would be.
"what's that for?"
Robbie smiled, and slowly took his hand off Amelia's shoulder, and rested it on the back of the bench. "I just want you to know that I'm here for you. You're one of the few friends I have in this place, so you can tell me anything. Come and see me whenever you need someone to talk to, or when you need someone to listen. OK?" Robbie smiled once more at Amelia. He looked round the library - from that one look he could see that keeping the library in good condition was not high on Franklin Highs priority list. The floorboards creaked and moaned in discomfort every-time a patient walked across them, the bookcases were so covered in dust that it was hard to make out their original color and the staff were not the friendliest of people. Robbie knew that they were strict as well. He knew that one bad word to their face could mean isolation, so he avoided them.
Feeling like it was his only lifeline in a place like a library, Robbie rummaged around in his satchel until his notebook was in his arms once more. He pulled out a pencil he had used previously, turned to a clean page in his book and began to draw what he had when he first came in the library. Random things, like doodles, song lyrics and stuff like that. Things like that made Robbie feel happy. He looked over at Amelia, who hadn't spoken to him for a while. He pulled out another pencil and handed it to her, so that she could draw with him.

` we were b o r n for this as amelia turned around, she could see robbie's scared eyes. it annoyed her that he was scared of her, but really, she couldn't blame him at all. she was scary, it was just one of her things to be like that, she guessed, shrugging her shoulders. but it hurt, it really hurt when she thought about it properly, it was stupid, but pretty emotional, too. but that was just amelia, always emotional, always thinking in too much depth of things. didn't matter what it was, she always did it.
her mind was calmed as robbie explained why he'd has his hand on her shoulder, it was not as she had first thought, that he liked her...more than a friend. which to be honest, she wasn't really ready for, and plus, she'd probably screw it up anyway.
amelia really couldn't help but smile as robbie said that she was 'one of the few friends' he had in this place, it really warmed her heart, that did. and really, he was one of her only friends in here, too. but she wasn't going to let that out, so she thought anyway. "you know what? you're one of my only friends here, too." she smiled widely and suddenly realised what she'd done; lowered her rank of people being scared of her. and that she needed, relied on, it was as if her very world would crumble apart now that she'd told robbie that. cursing to herself, amelia tried to take it back. "erm, well i..." but she could see there was no point, the damage of what she'd said had definitely been done.
she let her eyes travel to the floor and she sighed lowly, as if not wanting robbie to hear how depressed she was. eventually, amelia got bored of looking down, so she glanced up just as robbie handed her a pencil. she frowned and raised her eyebrows, not an easy thing to do, but amelia had mastered it. "what's that for?" she held the pencil in her falsenailed fingers and looked at it with her eyebrows still rasied. [/blockquote]

"you know what? you're one of my only friends here, too."
Listening to what Amelia had said, Robbie felt a smile grow on his face. It really was a sweet thing to say, and he was so pleased that he now had someone else he could talk to in this place. In a place like Franklin High, Robbie felt like he needed friendship to survive. It might sound stupid to other patients, but definitely not to Robbie. That was why he was desperate to hang onto the friends he had, and to try his hardest to make new friends. Which, so far, was going pretty well indeed.
"erm, well i..."
Robbie smiled. Obviously, Amelia liked people being scared of her. That wasn't strange to Robbie. Before he came here, he liked the fact that he was shy, and kept himself to himself at all times. But Franklin High had forced him to change. It gave you no choice in the matter. It was either change, or don't survive. So Robbie had changed, and tried to come out of his shyness habit. It had worked so far, so life was good. Well, as good as life could be in a prison like this. Robbie thought about it, and realized that the staff really mustn't care much about the patients. All they care about is getting their money from the parents of the patients. You could see it in their eyes - the shrinks looked bored and rather lifeless when you spoke to them, the cooks and cleaners looked like they had all lost the will to live several times and the librarians got pissed off at just about anything.
"what's that for?"
Robbie couldn't help but laugh as Amelia looked, eyebrows raised, at the pencil he had just given her. He put the notebook on the bench between them, and turned it to two, side-by-side clean pages. "Draw with me." Robbie said. Smiling, he began to draw on his side of the notebook, one of his eyes watching Amelia, to see if she would start drawing.

` we were b o r n for this amelia smiled as robbie did, it seemed that telling him that he was one of her only friends here at franklin high was a good thing to do. still, it lowered her stance, and she knew that either people were going to find out about her being a softy or someone was definitely going to tell them, either way, they'd find out about her. sighing, amelia pinched the top of her nose, a headache was coming on and she really didn't want it to continue. "promise me something, robbie." amelia didn't want to make robbie promise what she wanted him to, but something inside her wanted her to do it, and instead of ignoring it, she listened. "don't tell anyone, okay?" she coughed and looked down again.
her eyebrows were still raised as robbie said 'draw with me.' she liked the idea, so she did. there was two clean pages of paper in front of her, one for robbie, one for herself. amelia gripped the pencil and started to draw on her side. at first she had no idea to what she was drawing, then suddenly, it all came too. she was drawing lyn-z from mindless self indulgence.
