Robbie sighed to himself as he waked into the cafeteria. He took a final drag of his cigarette, twisted it on a nearby bench and threw it onto the floor. He looked up as the cook behind the counter gave him a look of disapproval. Robbie walked past, not even bothering to acknowledge her, or her look. He didn't know why he was here - he wasn't even hungry. Still trying to figure out why, Robbie found himself an empty bench and sat down.
Robbie found himself shaking his head as he looked around the cafeteria. It wasn't really in the best of conditions. The color on the walls was bland and uninspired, with the flooring following close behind. The benches weren't great, either, but at least there weren't any annoying patients around. Robbie enjoyed being with his close friends, by himself and no-one else. Many people called him too shy, and said it was strange that he didn't socialize much. But that was Robbie - he kept himself to himself, and people liked him for that. So he wasn't about to change for some people who didn't want to make an effort.
With nothing else to do, Robbie shrugged his satchel off of his shoulder and took out his iPod, his notebook and a pen. He placed one of his headphones in, turned his notebook to a new page and instantly his pen began to move. It was like he had no control over it. Like then pen knew what Robbie wanted to write without even being told. Robbie smirked - he liked that thought. He smiled as "One Step Closer" by Linkin Park came through on his iPod. His pen automatically picked up lyrics from the song, and jotted them down on the page.
Robbie took a quick break to check his hair. That morning, he hadn't done much with it - simply straightened it. He wore a green top, with a Linkin Park quote - "When the rich wage war it's the poor who die," written on it in black. He had chosen his pair of dark blue jeans and his converses to go with it. And, as always, he had his satchel with him. It went wherever Robbie did, it never left his side. Feeling quite satisfied, he picked up his pen once more, and let it take control of his wrist.

` ellie louise moore you see our name in city lights ,
ellie sighed as she walked down one of the hallways of franklin high, closely followed by her therapist. she'd actually turned up for a session, and had regretted it ever since. the therapist had weighed her, and didn't pretend to ignore her gasp of surprise. he intended to watch her eat something, but ellie knew that wasn't going to happen. she didn't like eating at the best of times, but with this stupid man breathing down her neck, it would be impossible.
she was wearing a pair of denim shorts and a light pink t-shirt, along with a pair of black heels to boost her height. her hair was down, and quite wavy. on her wrists was the usual thick black band that said 'ruthless', along with various bracelets and two watches.
walking into the cafeteria, she let out a sound of disgust as the smell of food hit her. hard. she stopped still, and the therapist practically walked into the back of her. she had to stop herself from turning around and slapping the idiot, and telling him where to stick it. instead, she walked quickly towards the serving counter, her head held high, ignoring the man scurrying behind her.
skipping the small queue, she grabbed a tray and let the woman behind the counter ladle something that smelt terrible onto her plate. resisting the urge to turn up her nose, she glared at the man for a second, before turning on her heel, grabbing a bottle of mineral water, and storming off to find somewhere to sit.
the cafeteria was surprisingly empty, something ellie only just noticed, as she had been furious with the man behind her before and hadn't paid attention to much else. she supposed that was why the therapist had said eat now, as no one else would be here. still, this did not take away her desire to throw the crap on her plate straight at his face.
only one other person was in the room, apart from ellie and the infuriating man who followed her around the room as she made her way across the room to the boy sitting there. she slammed her tray down opposite where he was sitting, then turned around to face the man. clearly he was taller than her, as everyone was, but she stood up as tall as she could, and had the added advantage of heels.
'will you please just fuck off? i'm not a baby, okay? i can eat my fucking food by myself. so go shave your back now,' she hissed at him. generally a nice person, she had no patience for therapists, especially hers. he tried to force her to eat when she just didn't want to, instead of trying to find out what made her stop or anything like therapists did in TV shows. then again, this place was nothing like a tv show.
the stupid man just shook his head, then turned and left. ellie lowered herself into the seat opposite the boy, and smiled at him as she pushed the tray away. he looked about her age, although ellie didn't really look her age at all. she put her elbow on the table and rested her head on her hand, watching the boy.

Robbie placed his pen down as he heard footsteps coming from the corridor. He watched as a girl, who looked about Robbie's age, came storming into the cafeteria, a man following close behind. He assumed that this man was a shrink, or something like that, as he watched the girl with eyes like a hawk. Robbie took a closer look at the girl and he felt like he knew her from somewhere. He continued to watch as the girl received some "food" from the cook. Robbie turned back round to his notebook, he didn't want to be caught trying to remember who this girl was. His face was drawn back into his notebook, but his ears were still alert as he heard a tray slam opposite him. Robbie couldn't help but look over in her direction.
'will you please just fuck off? i'm not a baby, okay? i can eat my fucking food by myself. so go shave your back now.'
Robbie couldn't hide the smile that came out at the girl's words. He watched the guy leave, and couldn't help but let out a little laugh at his expense. He actually turned to look at him, but Robbie just stared him down until he was out of the cafeteria. Robbie looked back to his table as the girl sat herself down and smiled. He smiled back at her, and took his headphone out to be polite. He stuffed the iPod back into his satchel, along with his notebook and pencil. Then Robbie went back to trying to figure out where he knew this girl from. Did he know her before Franklin High, or had he met her here? Robbie's memory was usually quite good, so not being able to remember this was starting to really piss him off.
Annoyed with himself, Robbie started to go over all the possible places he could have met this girl. Was it simply just walking around Franklin High, or was it somewhere else. Then a memory of a party came into his mind - the party that Juno had dragged him along to. Robbie knew that he had been rather drunk that night, but he was sure that he had seen that girl there. Yes - he knew it. Her name was Ellie. It all came back to Robbie now. He had enjoyed that party, so he didn't know why he couldn't remember Ellie straight away. He shook his head free of all thoughts, and felt like he should say something to her.
"Hey, Ellie. I'm Robbie. We met at the party, remember?" Robbie smiled at Ellie as he waited. Most of him didn't expect her to remember him, but there was a small part of him that thought she would. He placed both hands on the table and tapped out a beat. Robbie smiled - he would have to write a song to go with it.
